Sainik School AISSEE Preparation Strategy for Class 6 and Class 9

The All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE) has different entry pathways for Class VI and Class IX. A useful preparation plan begins by identifying the correct entry class and following the latest NTA information bulletin.

Important: Admission eligibility, syllabus, dates and test instructions may change by admission year. Always verify the current official prospectus or information bulletin before applying.

1. Confirm the entry class and official requirements

Read the latest bulletin on the NTA AISSEE portal. Verify age conditions, schooling requirements, participating schools, category rules, documents, examination medium, syllabus and application dates. These details can change between admission cycles.

2. Plan separately for Class VI

Class VI aspirants should build a strong base in mathematics, language, intelligence and general knowledge according to the current bulletin. Practise basic operations, fractions, decimals, measurement and word problems. Read daily, learn vocabulary in context and solve age-appropriate reasoning questions. For GK, focus on understanding the world around the student rather than memorising long lists.

3. Plan separately for Class IX

Class IX preparation requires a wider academic base. Follow the current official syllabus for mathematics, English, intelligence, general science and social science. Identify chapter-wise strengths and gaps, revise school concepts and practise multi-step problems. Do not use a Class VI worksheet or timetable as the main resource for a Class IX candidate.

4. Practise OMR discipline and time management

Where the current examination instructions specify OMR-based testing, teach the student how to read the question number carefully, darken the intended response and avoid stray marks. Practise under timed conditions only after the child understands the topics. Follow the current bulletin for marking rules; never assume that an older year's rule still applies.

5. Create a feedback loop

After each test, review incorrect answers and unanswered questions. Identify whether the cause was a weak concept, careless reading, calculation, or time pressure. Revise the topic and attempt a short follow-up set. Maintain a weekly progress record that shows learning, not just marks.
